Mac G-4 running OS-X and IE-5.1 on a cable
connection...no workie at all.
I know it's cool to have all the latest stuff but there's a
lot of us non-tech types out here that don't like to
upgrade. Some of them might want to buy a guitar.

Hey Lance, maybe I missed the announcement but I just noticed you have a brand new website up. Very nice--classy. I was snooping around looking at other peoples logos and noticed you're up and running. I really like your transitions and site style. Great job to whoever did your website. cool lance. I had a flash site at one time but I had tons of people complain about the loading time, and such. But I've always enjoyed flash sites... of course I'm on a fast connection anyway... |

Nice site Lance, and congrats on the 3rd place as well. Site works well on my Mac, I am using Safari, IE5 is a sad old browser especially on a Mac. Just tried it on Firefox, also no problems. |

Thanks Guys, its really not ready for primetime, but I have gotten more than a few inquires as to "where and when" will my site be back up, so I though id better get something going. I have more pages to add, 3 more model galleries and some client blurbs. I also plan to offer a non flash version, im working on that now, one at a time 
Anyways, as always content is the hardest part, I have some decent photos from my last two builds, and im planning on getting my latest one, shot before it heads to its final home. That should add enough to get at least one more gallery up. Thanks for the kind words and yes, please do tell me of any typos you find (via email)

Site works well on my Mac, I am using Safari, IE5 is a sad old browser especially on a Mac. No doubt, and I'm waiting for a new copy of OS X.4 so I can upgrade to Safari...but that was my point, there's people out there running old stuff, and if they hit a site that doesn't display they just keep right on rolling. Glad you're doing a non-flash version Lance, I look forward to seeing it. As to switching to a PC....10 years worth of graphics done on a Mac and 5 years on the web without a virus (no weekly security upgrades either). Nuff said.  |

It works fine on my dual G5 1.8 mac with 2.25 GM RAM, and a cable connection, but Mike is right....some people just don't dig the flash so it's pretty groovy your doing a non flash version. Much props g- funny Money vato henny loc. |

I tried it in IE 5 on my 867 G4 and it came up just as fast as in firefox and safari. It's not always the site's fault. I think there's a misconception about flash out there based on early load- heavy uses of it. I have an absolutely massive site I'm finishing up right now (the one I posted about last week). It's 34k. The html page it's loads into is 1k. So the viewer downloads a whopping 35k to check the entire site - less than half the size of the usual image found on your typical html site. I just saved this particular page of the thread, and it's 84k without adding in any of the images that come along with it. Flash also happens to be the most backward compatible technology, btw, not html. At least not the way html's finally starting to be used. I love flash. I'm better with it and it's a better approach for anyone who doesn't want to get their viewers excited about things by asking them to read endlessly. My un-biased opinion. ;) |

As a user...I still haven't botherd installing a Flash viewer. Because I tend to find Flash sites moderately annoying, and a well-coded, standards-compliant, CSS-driven site should be perfectly backwards compatible, scalable, flexible, and easy for the user to update online, using a CMS. It's a bit of a straw man argument to claim it's a problem with html code, and not people who can't code pages properly to save their lives. Of course, I don't do sales websites, and when I get somewhere, I want to be able to read stuff, save links to pictures, and copy text easily. Flash, on the whole, makes this more difficult. |

Hey Mattias My best friend can only check out my blog when he goes to his seminary classes because he doesn't have internet at home. The other day he said, "When you say you have a stripped down blog, you're not kidding." Turns out the browser can't read style sheets. I agree that a standards-compliant CSS site's pretty sweet. Throw in some Javascript, too, and it's awesome. [URL=http:// www.designologue.com/mint/]http://www.designologue.com/mint/ [/ URL]. But I can do that page with a smaller file size, less programing, and you'll be able to select text or image you want, with flash. I think html's great if you want the user experience to be limited reading a brochure. |

I'm using mozilla on a Linux system and I can't see any of the text. The pictures seem to come up OK but no text. The tabs in your display are almost invisible since they are a shade of gray that is very close to the background but with no text in them I had to move the mouse around and look for the cursor to change to find out where to click. Most flash sites work fine for me. The sound is working OK. |
